May 27:Lingcod limits with at least a dozen fish going over 15# with the brute weighing in at 25#.
May 23: Beautiful day on the water with flat calm conditions our 21 anglers caught limits of lingcod to 19# and near limits of quality vermilion, copper and assorted rockfish plus a bonus 2 nice petrale sole.
May 21: Limits the rule for both lingcod and rockfish. Steady good fishing with more chances to get down the coast with the weather improving. Next open load Tuesday the 23rd.
May 16: We fished in the bay today with easy limits of lingcod and rockfish. Next open trips are this weekend with very few spots left and next Tuesday the 23rd.
May 4: More awesome days on the water catching limits of lingcod and rockfish. Next open trips scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
Monday May 1: We are still catching limits of beautiful bottomfish and limits of lingcod. Great weather for fishing down the coast for Thursday. Call or book your trip online!
Thursday April 20: A disappointing salmon trip yesterday. The water turned over to green clear. A lot of bait in the areas we fished. We had two bites and landed one salmon going 14#. We'll see if anything picks up again in the coming days.
Tuesday April 18: Limits of lingcod and near limits of quality rockfish.

April 15: Our charter group had a great trip today with nice quality bottom fish down the coast.
Ok so interesting. We have a salmon season to July 15. If enough salmon make a showing we will be making the trip....if not we are sticking to the rockfish and lingcod which has been spectacular!
Wednesday April 12: Limits of lingcod for 17 anglers by 10:30. Also limits of quality rockfish.
Saturday April 8:The charter group today caught limits of rockfish and a fish and a half a rod on the lingcod. Fishing in the bay today. The spring winds are still upon us.
Thursday April 6:Our group of anglers today were willing to go local in the bay for rockfish and lingcod as the weather was not good for going down the coast. We have had a lot of area that has opened up to us due to the deeper water regs. It paid off! Just a few shy on the lingcod limits and limits of nice quality rockfish. Vermilion, coppers and canary rockfish. We have a lot of scouting around to do in areas we have not been able to fish for 20 years.
Tuesday April 4: Weather was better today which enabled us to get down the coast to Pt Sur. The lingcod bite was wide open and 27 anglers had easy limits by 9:30 this morning. The rockcod bite was not happening at Sur so they came up the coast a few miles and found a vermillion honey hole!
April 1:Back out on the water today! The weather was a little sloppy but we had a great day with limits of lings and a great showing of bottomfish (ie coppers and reds) a canary per rod. The schoolies weren't biting. The salmon fishing was slow for the bay. We will keep an eye on it and if it picks up we will take a shot at them. Meanwhile rockfish and lingcod in the deeper water is the ticket.
March 31: The Kahuna is tired of sitting at the dock. But she is looking good and ready to go fishing. Opening day tomorrow! Next available trip is Thursday the 6th for rockfish and lingcod. If some salmon show we will go on Wednesday. Give us a call and we will let you know what's going on.
New captain Brian Cutting with deckhand Josh Abbey. Brian has been running charter boats for the last 20 years. The first boat he worked on was the Kahuna as a deckhand! Josh and Brian have been working as a team for many years. We are excited to bring Brian back and he is looking forward to the upcoming fishing season. Come out and welcome Brian and Josh to the Kahuna family.
